Listen to Bible Quotes

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
(Psalm 34:1)

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: to shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.
(Psalm 92:1,2)

For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
(Psalm 96:4)

Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
(Psalm 104:1,33)

My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord; and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
(Psalm 145:21)

Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word: Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.
(Psalm 148:1-14)
BIBLE IN SONG: Sing Psalms unto Him

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(Romans 8:8,9)

But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
(Hebrews 11:6)

Popular Bible Quotes

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
--Psalm 69:30, 31

Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.
--Psalm 135:3

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Inspirational Quotes from Famous People

Ah, praise does wonders for the sense of hearing.
--Unknown

The sweetest of all sounds is praise.
--Xenophon

Praise is simply letting off esteem.
--Unknown

Self-esteem is so delicate a flower that praise tends to make it bloom, while discouragement often nips it in the bud.
--Alex F. Osborn (1888 - 1966) Writer

The way we respond to criticism pretty much depends on the way we respond to praise. If praise humbles us, then criticism will build us up. But if praise inflates us, then criticism will crush us; and both responses lead to our defeat.
--Warren W. Wiersbe

What the Bible says about Praise

Who should praise the Lord and how?
"Hallelujah! Yes, praise the Lord! Praise Him in His Temple, and in the heavens He made with mighty power. Praise Him for His mighty works. Praise His unequalled greatness. Praise Him with the trumpet and with lute and harp. Praise Him with stringed instruments and horns. Praise Him with the cymbals, yes, loud clanging cymbals. Let everything alive give praise to the Lord! You praise Him! Hallelujah!" Psalm 150:1-6, TLB

Praise is a spiritual offering.
"Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess His name." Hebrews 13:15, NIV

Praise is thanking God for His many gracious gifts.
"Yes, I will bless the Lord and not forget the glorious things He does for me." Psalm 103:2, TLB

Praise God for forgiveness and answered prayer.
"Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion; to You our vows will be fulfilled. O You who hear prayer, to You all men will come. When we were overwhelmed by sins, You atoned for our transgressions." Psalm 65:1-3, NIV

All creation is like a symphony praising God for who He is and what He does.
See Psalm 148 under 'Listen to Bible Quotes'.

We can praise God because He is powerful.
"Accept our praise, O Lord, for all Your glorious power. We will write songs to celebrate Your mighty acts!" Psalm 21:13, TLB

A good way to praise God is through music.
"Let all the joys of the godly well up in praise to the Lord, for it is right to praise Him. Play joyous melodies of praise upon the lyre and on the harp. Compose new songs of praise to Him, accompanied skilfully on the harp; sing joyfully." Psalm 33:1-3, TLB

Praise God even when our heart is breaking.
"I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of His glories and grace. I will boast of all His kindness to me. Let all who are discouraged take heart. Let us praise the Lord together and exalt His name." Psalm 34:1-3, TLB

Praising God should happen daily.
"And I will praise Your name continually, fulfilling my vow of praising You each day." Psalm 61:8, TLB

Praise Him for turning grief into happiness.
"Then He turned my sorrow into joy! He took away my clothes of mourning and gave me gay and festive garments to rejoice in so that I might sing glad praises to the Lord instead of lying in silence in the grave. O Lord my God, I will keep on thanking You forever!" Psalm 30:11-12, TLB

Praise God for His loving kindness.
"Oh, that these men would praise the Lord for His loving-kindness, and for all of His wonderful deeds! For He satisfies the thirsty soul and fills the hungry soul with good." Psalm 107:8-9, TLB.4
