Inspirational Quotes from Famous People

Aggression is inherently destructive of relationships. People and ideologies are pitted against each other, believing that in order to survive, they must destroy the opposition.
Margaret J. Wheatley – American Writer

Aggression is simply another name for government.
Benjamin Tucker – American Activist 1854-1939

Aggression unopposed becomes a contagious disease.
Jimmy Carter – American President Born 1924

Everyone gets frustrated and aggressive, and I'd sooner take my aggression out on a guitar than on a person.
Paul Weller – English Musician Born 1958

History teaches that war begins when governments believe the price of aggression is cheap.
Ronald Reagan – American President 1911-2004

I think being mean to people in high school is healthy. It's sort of like you're in this situation with all these other kids and sometimes you need to get your aggression out. And if you'd had people be mean to you before, it really does build character.
Lizzy Caplan – American Actress Born 1982

Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.
Martin Luther King, Jr. – American Leader 1929-1968

My aggression out there is my weapon. I think it's more letting them know that I'm not going to let them get away with something, and I'm not just going to kind of poke it back and be content to stay in rallies.
Andy Roddick – American Tennis Player Born 1982

My passions were all gathered together like fingers that made a fist. Drive is considered aggression today; I knew it then as purpose.
Bette Davis – American Actress 1908-1989

My solution to the problem would be to tell the North Vietnamese Communists frankly that they've got to drawn in their horns and stop their aggression or we're going to bomb them into the stone age.

What Bible says about
Anger

A short-tempered man is a fool. "Don't be quick-tempered—that is being a fool." Ecclesiastes 7:9, TLB.
"A wise man restrains his anger and overlooks insults. This is to his credit." Proverbs 19:11, TLB.
"It is better to be slow-tempered than famous; it is better to have self-control than to control an army." Proverbs 16:32, TLB

Get over anger quickly. "If you are angry, don't sin by nursing your grudge. Don't let the sun go down with you still angry—get over it quickly; For when you are angry you give a mighty foothold to the devil." Ephesians 4:26-27, TLB.

What does Jesus warn about anger? "But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire." Matthew 5:22, NKJV

How does God relate to anger? "The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy." Psalm 103:8, NKJV

How does Love relate to anger? "It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs." 1 Corinthians 13:5, NIV

Don't fight back when wronged. "Don't repay evil for evil. Don't snap back at those who say unkind things about you. Instead, pray for God's help for them, for we are to be kind to others, and God will bless us for it." I Peter 3:9, TLB

Anger produces strife. "For as churning the milk produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife." Proverbs 30:33, NIV

How should we react to someone's anger? "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Proverbs 15:1, NKJV

Why do we forgive, rather than continue to be angry? Because God forgave us. "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." Ephesians 4:30-32, NKJV5
