But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
(Hebrews 11:6)

Bible Quotes

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
(Psalm 69:30,31)

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: to shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.
(Psalm 92:1,2)

Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
(Psalm 104:1,33)

Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.
(Psalm 135:3)

My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord; and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
(Psalm 145:21)

Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word: Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.
(Psalm 148:1-14)

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
(Philippians 4:8)

Ah, praise does wonders for the sense of hearing.

The sweetest of all sounds is praise.

Praise is simply letting off esteem.

Self-esteem is so delicate a flower that praise tends to make it bloom, while discouragement often nips it in the bud.
--Alex F. Osborn (1888 - 1966) Writer

The way we respond to criticism pretty much depends on the way we respond to praise. If praise humbles us, then criticism will build us up. But if praise inflates us, then criticism will crush us; and both responses lead to our defeat.
--Warren W. Wiersbe

Praise from an enemy is the most pleasing of all commendations.

Praise and the Bible

Who should praise the Lord and how?

Praise Him with the trumpet and with lute and harp. Praise Him with stringed instruments and horns. Praise Him with the cymbals, yes, loud clanging cymbals. Testimonials and Comments

Definition of Praise

1. Expression of approval, commendation, or admiration.

2. The extolling or exaltation of a deity, ruler, or hero.

3. Archaic. A reason for praise; merit.4

Meaning of Praise

In its common usage, praise is the act of making positive statements about a person, object or idea, either in public or privately. Praise is typically, but not exclusively, earned relative to achievement and accomplishment. Praise is often contrasted with criticism, where the latter is held to mean exclusively negative statements made about something, although this is not technically correct.

In religion, praise is an impassioned exaltation of God (ie. a Supreme Being, or Creation), typically as an expression of gratitude for one's life or being. In other cases, praise may be tied to more situational aspects of living, such as health and prosperity.7
