Design and the Bible

Believers of God of all the ages have believed in intelligent design. Psalm 139:14 states, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." Many of the great discoveries of history and science have been made through The Word of God. (The earth is round seen in Isa. 40:22; The tilt of the Earth on it's axis seen in 2 Kings 20:9-11; The stars singing and the ordinances of heaven Job 38:7,33) We could go on but suffice it to say, Gen. 1:1 "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth." Fact is, it takes more faith to believe in evolution than in Intelligent design.

Let's take the two laws of Thermodynamics and apply them to the evolution theory. The first is known as the Law of Energy Conservation. It states that energy can be converted from one form to another, but cannot be created or destroyed. This law alone proves that the Universe did not create itself ! There is no innovation, only conservation of Energy. This works against evolution. The Second Law of Thermodynamics is The Law of Energy Decay. This works against evolution as well. It means that all systems left to themselves move toward decay, ie the universe is in a state of increasing decay and disorder (entropy). Evolution requires billions of years of constant violations of this law. What this law requires is a point in time in the past when all these systems were perfect, where the available energy equalled total energy! Conclusion: Since energy cannot create itself, the only possible answer is Intelligent Design!

If God created everything perfect then why are there apparent flaws in creation? The answer is simple. God created everything good and perfect in the beginning, yet He told the first couple that disobedience concerning the "tree of knowledge" would result in "death". Their disobedience resulted in the curse of sin. This is the reason we have flaws, defects, disorders, degeneration, etc. The creature and all of creation are under the curse. See Gen. 3:2-19. There were no briars, no disease, and no death before the fall of man. In Gen. 3:17 God said, "cursed is the ground for thy sake..." Romans 8:18-23 tells us that not only man, but the "whole creation groaneth and travailed in pain together until now."

What about the fossils? Evolutionist assume fossils can be dated by where they are found in the strata and that strata can be dated by their fossils. Evolutionists believe certain fossils an be used as "index fossils" indicating the estimated age of rock strata. The result is that when index fossils from two different time periods are found in the same strata, they have a problem. Added to that is the fact that rock strata is not always found in the order the evolutionists expect. Rock sequences exists with the older strata on top of the "younger" strata. (This is explained by the Biblical flood.)

According to evolutionist, coal was formed about 300 million years ago, however these items have been documented to be found in coal: a small steel tube, an iron pot, an iron instrument, a nail, a bell shaped metal vessel, a bell, a jawbone of a child, a human skull, two human molars, and a fossilized leg. And to cap all this off, Polystrate fossils, large fossils such as trees, dinosaurs, and fish extend through several strata. That is a problem for the evolutionist.

Believing the Bible would solve all these problems! God is the intelligent designer. Heb 11:3 "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of thing which do appear."2
