Bible Quotes
Give strong drink to the one who is perishing, and wine to those in bitter distress; let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more.
(Proverbs 31:6,7) ESV

Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
(Isaiah 43:18,19) ESV

I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.
(Isaiah 43:25) ESV

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 3:13,14) ESV

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
(James 1:22-25) ESV1

There is some pleasure even in words, when they bring forgetfulness of present miseries.

We bury love; Forgetfulness grows over it like grass: That is a thing to weep for, not the dead.
--Alexander Smith Scottish Poet Born 1830 Died 1867

Forgetfulness and the Bible

Forget the Past. By His Stripes you were healed. There are people who actually believe that they cannot be healed or delivered from sickness and disease, because the sins of their past are ever before them. They remember what they did wrong more than they remember God's promises that By His Stipes you were healed.

They forget that God promises to forgive them when they sincerely repent (1 John 1:9). If you struggle with receiving God's forgiveness, it's time to lay aside the weight of past sins and believe the Word of God once and for all (Hebrews 12:1).

The Bible says God will throw your sins into the sea of forgetfulness (Micah 7:19), and cast them as far away as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). It is time for you to do the same. In Mark 2:9, Jesus told a paralyzed man that his sins were forgiven, then commanded him to take up his bed and walk.

Do you remember what happened next? The religious folks around Him got angry and He asked, " ... is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and take up thy bed, and walk?"

In other words, when you're healed from a physical ailment, God also heals you from sin. Even if your physical sickness is a result of sin, the love, compassion, and healing power of God is available to overcome your infirmity.

God's power is not limited to soul salvation, it encompasses healing in every area of your life. Psalm 103:3 says, God " ... healeth all thy diseases .... " Again in Exodus 15:26, the Word declares that God is " ... the Lord that healeth thee."

Now if God didn't mean He would heal all of your diseases, He would not have used the word all. Your healing is not based on whether the doctor can heal you; it's based on the Word and your covenant with God for the healing of your spirit, soul, and body.2
