Deceit and the Bible

Deceit Is falsehood. Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood. Psalms 119:118

The tongue is the instrument of deceit. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips. Romans 3:13

Deceit comes from the heart. Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. Mark 7:22

Deceit is a characteristic of the heart. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9

God abhors deceit. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. Psalms 5:6 

Deceit is forbidden. 
Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips. Proverbs 24:28

Definition of Deceit

1. An attempt to deceive or lead into error; a falsehood; any declaration, artifice, or practice, which misleads another, or causes him to believe what is false; a contrivance to entrap; deception; a wily device; fraud.

2. Any trick, collusion, contrivance, false representation, or underhand practice, used to defraud another. When injury is thereby effected, an action of deceit, as it called, lies for compensation.3
