My righteousness I hold fast, and
will not let it go: my heart shall
not reproach me so long as I live.
(Job 27:6)
The light of the body
is the eye: if therefore thine eye
be single, thy whole body shall be
full of light. But if thine eye be
evil, thy whole body shall be full
of darkness. If therefore the
light that is in thee be darkness,
how great is that darkness!
(Matthew 6:22,23)
No man, when he hath lighted a
candle, putteth it in a secret
place, neither under a bushel, but
on a candlestick, that they which
come in may see the light. The light of the body
is the eye: therefore when thine
eye is single, thy whole body also
is full of light; but when thine
eye is evil, thy body also is full
of darkness. Take heed therefore
that the light which is in thee be
not darkness. If thy whole body
therefore be full of light, having
no part dark, the whole shall be
full of light, as when the bright
shining of a candle doth give thee
light.
(Luke 11:33-36)
And herein do I exercise myself,
to have always a conscience void
of offence toward God, and toward
men.
(Acts 24:16)
But when ye sin so against the
brethren, and wound their weak
conscience, ye sin against Christ.
(1 Corinthians 8:12)
If any of them that believe not
bid you to a feast, and ye be
disposed to go; whatsoever is set
before you, eat, asking no
question for conscience sake. But
if any man say unto you, This is
offered in sacrifice unto idols,
eat not for his sake that shewed
it, and for conscience sake: for
the earth is the Lord's, and the
fulness thereof: Conscience, I
say, not thine own, but of the
other: for why is my liberty
judged of another man's
conscience? For if I by grace be a
partaker, why am I evil spoken of
for that for which I give thanks?
Whether therefore ye eat, or
drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all
to the glory of God. Give none
offence, neither to the Jews, nor
to the Gentiles, nor to the church
of God:
(1 Corinthians 10:27-32)
Now the end of the commandment is
charity out of a pure heart, and
of a good conscience, and of faith
unfeigned: Holding faith, and a
good conscience; which some having
put away concerning faith have
made shipwreck:
(1 Timothy 1:5,19)
Let us draw near with a true heart
in full assurance of faith, having
our hearts sprinkled from an evil
conscience, and our bodies washed
with pure water.
(Hebrews 10:22)
For this is
thankworthy, if a man for
conscience toward God endure
grief, suffering wrongfully.
(1 Peter 2:19)
